Board of Directors Election Process and Timeline

August 15th

Board of Directors Applications are available to fill out 

August 31st

            5:00pm – Board of Directors Application due

September 19th

Run from the Floor: Filed with secretary 14 days before annual election

 

September 26th

Secretary shall send notice of such additional nominations to eligible members to vote no later than 7 days prior to election

October 3rd

First Monday – Annual Election Begins

October 10th

Second Monday – Annual Election Conclude 

Information about running from the floor
  • 14 days before first Monday in October
    • File a petition WITH SECRETARY that is signed by at least 10% of REALTOR® members who are eligible to vote
  • 7 days before first Monday in October
    • SECRETARY shall send notice of such additional nominations to all members eligible to vote no later than 7 days prior to election (staff shall assist with email)

Qualifications for Directors and Executive Officers

Qualifications for Director:

  • Primary REALTOR® Member of Association for 2 years prior to the beginning of the term and in good standing.  
  • Served on an Association committee for at least 1 out of the past 3 years.  
  • Closed at least 5 transactions (lease, sale or listing sold or managed) in the past year (OR)  
  • Managed at least $5M in production in the past year.  

        Qualifications for Secretary:

        • Primary REALTOR® Member of Association for 3 years prior to the beginning of the term and in good standing.  
        • Served on an Association committee for at least 2 of the past 3 years.  
        • Closed at least 5 transactions in the past year. (OR)  
        • Managed at least $5M in production in the past year 
        • Served at least one year as a Director of the Association. 

            Qualifications for Treasurer:

            • Primary REALTOR® Member of Association for 4 years prior to the beginning of the term and in good standing.  
            • Served on a committee for at least 2 out of the past 3 years.  
            • Closed at least 5 transactions in the past year. (OR)  
            • Managed at least $5M in production in the past year.  
            • Served at least one year as a Director of the Association. 
            • Served at least one full year on Finance Committee in the past 3 years prior to the beginning of the term.  
            • Has demonstrated competency in drafting or overseeing a budget.  

            Qualifications for President-Elect:

            • Currently serving as Treasurer. (OR) If Treasurer is unfit or unable to serve:  

            • Primary REALTOR® Member of Association for 4 years prior to the beginning of the term and in good standing.  

            • Served at least one full year on the Finance Committee.  

            • Demonstrated competency in drafting or overseeing a budget.  

            • Previously served as an Officer for the Association, and  

            • Served on the Board of Directors for one full year within the past 5 years; OR   

            • Previously served as an Officer for the State or National Association in the past 3 years.  

            Qualifications for President:

            • Currently serving as President-Elect. (OR) if President-Elect is unfit or unable to serve:  
            • Currently serving as Treasurer. (OR) If Treasurer is unfit or unable to serve:  
            • Served as primary Member of the Association for 4+ years in good standing.  
            • Served at least one full year on the Finance Committee.  
            • Demonstrated competency in drafting or overseeing a budget.  
            • Previously served as an Officer for Association, and  
            • Served on the Board of Directors for one full year within the past 5 years; Or  
            • Previously served as an Officer for the State or National Association in the past 3 years. 

            Qualifications for Past President  

            • Currently serving as President. If President is unable to serve:  
            • President-Elect will appoint a Past-President that has served as President of the Association in the Past 10 years.
