REALTOR®  Family Designations & Certifications

The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and its affiliated Institutes, Societies, and Councils provide a wide-range of programs and services that assist members in increasing skills, proficiency, and knowledge. Designations and certifications acknowledge experience and expertise in various real estate sectors are awarded by NAR and each affiliated group upon completion of required courses.

Local Designations

State Designations

Texas Affordable Housing Specialist (TAHS)

The Texas Affordable Housing Specialist (TAHS) certification equips you with the knowledge to help first-time and underserved homebuyers and increase sustainable homeownership in Texas. The certification consists of 12 CE hours, including the mandatory 4-hour United Texas: Housing Initiatives that Work course. Additional course electives will vary by association. Any combination of courses can be taken to achieve the certification, as long as those courses total at least 12 hours. More Information

Texas Residential Leasing Specialist (TRLS)

When looking for help in finding that perfect tenant or finding that perfect rental property to call home, landlords and tenants want the services of a real estate professional who understands their needs and can guide them through the process. Texas Residential Property Manager (TRPM)

As a follow-up to the Texas Residential Leasing Specialist, this Texas-specific certification shows your commitment to your property management specialty. Accredited Buyer's Representative (ABR)

The Accredited Buyer's Representative designation from the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council helps prepare real estate professionals to represent buyer clients in residential real estate transactions and provide the quality of service and degree of fidelity to buyers that sellers have customarily enjoyed. It also offers ideas and methods for building a buyer representation business and tools for conducting buyer counseling sessions. More Information

Accredited Staging Professional (ASP)

Accredited ASP Stagers and ASP Real Estate Agents are true Professionals trained under strict guidelines using proven Staging techniques developed for over 30 years. Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB)

The CRB is one of the most respected and relevant designations offered in real estate business management and is awarded to REALTORS® who have completed advanced educational and professional requirements. More Information

Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI)

The Texas-specific Graduate REALTOR® Institute designation is obtained by attending an intensive series of courses that total 90 hours of classroom instruction. Texas REALTORS® who’ve earned their GRIs earn twice as much as non-designees. More Information

Military Relocation Professional (MRP)

The certification gives real estate professionals information to help current and former members of the military get housing that works best for them while taking advantage of military benefits and support. More Information

Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES)
