WCREALTORS was thrilled to welcome the City of Cedar Park and their Building Inspection department to our campus for a Lunch & Learn earlier this week. K.C. Crow, Building Official; Amy Link, Assistant Director Development Services; Sandie Fauss, Neighborhood Services Coordinator; and Lisa Mann, Office Manager facilitated the hour-long discussion about building code requirements in Cedar Park.
The City of Cedar Park was eager to help educate Realtors (and their sellers) on the proper permits needed for home additions such as decks, storage sheds, swimming pools, HVAC and irrigation installation and any other projects that may arise. City officials have seen a trend that sellers come to closing without the proper permits for work done on their home and therefore, closing may be delayed.
Topics covered and discussed included:
- When do you need a permit
- How to apply for a permit
- Certificate of Occupancy FAQ
- Sign Regulations
Click here to download a copy of the “Ready to Sell” flyer created by the City of Cedar Park. This is a great handout to share with your clients and other Realtors that do business in Cedar Park. Also, click here to download the PowerPoint presentation. And, for immediate questions regarding permitting please call the Cedar Park Building Inspection Department at (512) 401-5106.
Thank you to Commi$$ion Express for providing lunch!
Watch your email for future Lunch & Learns that will deal with similar issues in other cities such as Round Rock and Georgetown.
