Committees

Central to the operation of Williamson County REALTORS® is the desire to involve its members. Williamson County REALTORS® has a culture of service. We believe that the industry is better when we serve together. As a member of Williamson County REALTORS® there are several opportunities for you to serve. The activities of our association start at the committee or small group level.

Don’t let the word committee fool you.  These are service oriented groups that carry out specific functions.  If you would like to serve with a group contact our leadership team or watch this short video to learn more.

Known as standing committees, these small groups of individual work to plan and carry out many of the activities that we do. 

Awards Committee Responsibilities

It is the mission of the Awards Committee of WCREALTORS to solicit nominees for the current annual awards presented by the Association: REALTOR of the Year; Rookie of the Year, Affiliate of the Year, Affiliate Company of the Year, Distinguished Service (should there be someone qualified), other awards as deemed appropriate and recognition certificates for long-term members over 15 years at 5-year increments at events.

Committment/Meetings

The Awards Committee meets two times per year, in late May and October.

Eligibility

All active REALTOR® members are eligible to serve.

    Board of Directors Responsibilities

    The Board of Directors is responsible for ensuring the organization’s long-term financial stability and integrity. Directors recognize that in order to foster the organization’s continued viability and growth, diversification of income sources is essential, and they pledge to personally contribute needed resources and talents toward this end.

    Committment

    Commit to serve a minimum of 6-10 hours per month in this voluntary, unpaid, position.  Attend Board meetings and actively participate in decision-making.  Support the Board’s decisions even when a personal opinion is in conflict with the decision. Support the ASSOCIATION by attending meetings and other functions. Advocate for the ASSOCIATION and promote the organization’s professional image. Contribute by sharing areas of expertise as well as recruiting new Members, advertisers, exhibitors, speakers, etc. Each director is encouraged to make a TREPAC investment of $110, each year during term of service. Submit all expense reimbursement requests within 30 days of the expenditure on the approved form and accompanied by original receipts. Sign he Association Confidentiality Agreement.

    Meetings

    The Board of Directors meets every third Thursday of the Month at 9:00am. Special called  Board meetings might take place the first Thursday of the month at 9:00am.

    Eligibility

    • Primary REALTOR® Member of Association for 2 years prior to the beginning of the term and in good standing.  
    • Served on an Association committee for at least 1 out of the past 3 years.  
    • Closed at least 5 transactions (lease, sale or listing sold or managed) in the past year (OR)  
    • Managed at least $5M in production in the past year.  

    ByLaws & Policy Committee Responsibilities

    The mission of the Bylaws and Policy Committee of WCREALTORS is to provide oversight and review of the Bylaws and Policies (governing documents) to remain compliant with NAR and provide the best possible policy direction for the association.   

    Committment/Meetings

    Meetings schedule as selected by Chair. 

    Eligibility

    All active REALTOR® members are eligible to serve.

      Community Service Committee Responsibilities

      The mission of the Community Service Committee is to show Williamson County how REALTORS® are good neighbors! The community Service Committee volunteers time with local organizations, conducts food drives, and gives back to those in need during the Holiday Season.

      Committment/Meetings

      The Community Service Meeting meets the second Tuesday of every month at 10:00am.

      Eligibility

      All active REALTOR® and Affiliate members are eligible to serve.

      Events Committee Responsibilities

      The mission of the Events Committee of WCREALTORS is to develop quality events that promote networking, professional development, and professionalism amongst the membership.    

       

      Committment/Meetings

      The Events Committee meets the first Thursday of every month at 10am. A second monthly meeting might be deemed necessary before an event.

      Eligibility

      All active REALTOR® and Affiliate members are eligible to serve.

      Finance Committee Responsibilities

      The Mission of the Finance Committee of WCREALTORS is to prepare an annual budget, meet quarterly to recommend; dues amount, capital expenditures, budget modifications, savings and investments, tax matters, recommendations for expenditures, and schedule timely audits to be in compliance with NAR’s Core Standards. 

      Committment/Meetings

      The Finance Committee meets quarterly as deemed necessary by the Chair.

       

      Eligibility

      All active REALTOR® and Affiliate members are eligible to serve.

      Governmental Affairs Committee Responsibilities

      The mission of the Governmental Affairs Committee of WCREALTORS is to identify, analyze and recommend policies and issues on local, state, and national political issues as well as identify candidates who embrace legislation to protect and promote private property rights, and the REALTOR® brand. 

      Committment/Meetings

      The GA Committee meets the fourth Monday of the month at 9am. A second monthly meeting might be deemed necessary during active elections.

      Eligibility

      All active REALTOR® and Affiliate members are eligible to serve.

      Member Committee Responsibilities

      The Mission of the Membership Committee of WCREALTORS is to focus on Member Retention as well as target new members in Williamson County. 

      Committment/Meetings

      The Membership Committee meets on the second Monday of every month at 9am.

      Eligibility

      All active REALTOR® and Affiliate members are eligible to serve.

      Professional Development Committee Responsibilities

      The mission of the Professional Development Committee of WCREALTORS shall be to fulfill the needs of REALTORS by creating quality and diverse educational opportunities which enhances professionalism and expertise at an affordable price. Evaluate existing course and instructors.  Make recommendations to the BOD on new programs to benefit the members. Encourage our members to become instructors. 

      Committment/Meetings

      The Professional Development Committee meets quarterly as deemed necessary by thhe Chair.

      Eligibility

      All active REALTOR® and Affiliate members are eligible to serve.

      Board of Directors Responsibilities

      The Mission of the TREPAC (Texas Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee) Committee of WCREALTORS is to raise and disburse funds to TAR and to create a favorable business environment for REALTORS®, Promote Private Property Rights, discourage unfair taxation, and promote the free enterprise system. 

      Committment/Meetings

      The TREPAC Committee meets the fourth Monday of every month at 10:15 am. Additional meetings may be deemed necessary leading up to fundraising events.

      Eligibility

      All active REALTOR® and Affiliate members are eligible to serve.
